If the organizers are thinking of a Mobile Web 2.0 sort of session (they should), there are some people I can recommend (other than me – I’m disqualified).
– Dave Harper, WINKsite (Scott Rafer is talking about RSS)
– Debi Jones
– Shawn Conahan, Intercasting Corp
– Ni Jian, Nokia (what’s he doing on a video panel?)
– Christian Lindholm, Yahoo!
Here’s the program as it stands.
Gosh, Charlie. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Where do I send the check again? 🙂
Why are you disqualified?
In any case, I second the call for a Mobile Web session. Or more probably “five hundred and second” it — surely you can’t be the only person who sees the need for this?
Charlie, I definitely agree with you and I am happy to have this opportunity to clarifie things. The name of the panel is not reflecting exactly what it will be about. Speakers will be invited to talk about photo/video in a mobile environement, that’s why Ni Jian and Skema were invited. At the time we invited Scott, he was still CEO of Feedster, that’s why he is on the RSS panel. Then, I would have love to be able to set up a panel dedicated to podcast, but the main actors of this world are not the most reactive and easy to reach… Of course, Christian was in my favorites list, but unfortunately he moved to Yahoo at the time I needed him and we’ve been talking about his participation on the phone…
But your comment makes lot’s of sense, I might try to reorganise it a bit… ;o) Thanks for this input.
Scott Rafer is Chairman of Wireless Ink
Ok, Scott, it’s time now for me to apologize for having been so late in updating your personal informations as speaker to our conf, Charlie and several others certainly noticed that I was not up to date on the
Charlie you once wrote:
“…the conversations we want to have. The conversations start from the content because we want to communicate, not consume.”
This couldn’t be more true or more important to remember.
Now for my speech…
For tens of millions worldwide their mobile phone is their one and only daily pipeline onto the Internet, to the knowledge it contains, and to each other.
It is more than just creating and consuming content – text, photos, and video. It is about the individuals it engages, the people it connects, the dialogue that develops, the community that forms and the collective action that can result.
Mobile can no longer be an afterthought or a nice to have. It’s mandatory, it’s critical, it’s here and it’s now.
The Conversation starts here…who’s onboard?

Guillaume,
Thanks for the reaponse. I totally understand how it is to organize an event like this and understand the even larger challenge of a two day agenda.
Just bringing up something in the open blogging way. 😉
Either way, I am looking forward to an amazing event.
Tchau,
Charlie
Stuart,
I’m disqualified because I spoke last time. I first thought is was becuase of being a pain in the rear (among other things), but no one from last time is speaking. Well, I think Yat Sui and Calacanis spoke last time. But there are good reasons, I am sure for them speaking this time – and Guillaume and Loïc were pretty tough about this rule.
Hope to see you there, mobile stuff or not. Don’t forget to say hi to me.
Tchau,
Charlie
david,
well said, as always.
tchau,
charlie
